Zurich musician Hardy Hepp founded the band Krokodil in 1969 - one of the very first Swiss rock bands. Hepp performed at the Hallenstadion with Krokodil as the support act for the Rolling Stones.

Among other things, Hepp produced the debut long-playing record by Toni Vescoli's Les Sauterelles and was also co-producer of the legendary trio Minstrels, who landed a huge hit in 1976 with "Grüezi wohl, Frau Stirnimaa!".

The guitarist and violinist had been ill for some time, had problems with his liver and had become noticeably weaker, reported the CH-Media newspapers. He last went on a reading tour in November last year.
