The impressive 18 games without defeat have an increasingly bitter aftertaste for FC Aarau. While Brunello Iacopetta's team strung together win after win for a long time, they have had to settle for one point per game since mid-March - too few points to keep up with FC Thun, their rivals for direct promotion to the Super League.
In Schaffhausen, Aarau conceded a late goal for the second time in recent weeks after Yannick Touré had made it 1-0 in the 59th minute. This time, an own goal by Marcin Dickenmann in the 94th minute cost the hapless Aarau side victory.
FCA's weak phase brings Thun ever closer to the Super League.
