Emma Aicher wins the first of two super-Gs in Soldeu well ahead of New Zealander Alice Robinson. Corinne Suter finishes third on the podium again.
24 hours after her victory in the downhill, Suter opened the race in the Andorran Pyrenees. With the ungrateful starting number 1 in the super-G, she set a time in the spring-like snow in high temperatures that the following racers struggled with for a long time. Up to bib number 8, no-one even came close to the Swabian's mark.
Only Alice Robinson was able to catch Suter. The New Zealander, who won the super-G in St. Moritz, caught the steep slope perfectly, but missed the exit and saved a ten-hundredths lead to the finish.
In the end, it was Emma Aicher who outshone the competition. The 22-year-old German showed a flawless run from top to bottom. With three section best times, she distanced Robinson by 88 hundredths. She only lost time to the 24-year-old on the steep slope.
For Aicher, who won silver in the downhill and the team combined at the Olympic Games, it is her fifth World Cup victory, her third this season, having already won the downhill in St. Moritz and the super-G in Tarvisio. This is the tenth time Suter has finished on the super-G podium in the World Cup. The last one to date was in January 2025, in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Apart from Suter, Malorie Blanc was the only Swiss woman who was able to keep up with the best racers. The winner of the super-G in Crans-Montana missed out on the top 10 by just four hundredths in 11th place. Stefanie Grob (26th) also finished in the points.
