Debora Annen also impresses in her second race in the monobob at her home World Cup in St. Moritz. In fourth place, she equaled her best World Cup result from the beginning of the month in Winterberg.
On Friday, Annen finished in 5th place, and one day later the 22-year-old from Schwyz improved by one place. This time, the junior world champion was one tenth of a second short of her first podium finish. Melanie Hasler did not start the second run due to back pain. As on the previous day, victory went to the American Elana Meyers Taylor.
2nd place for Patrick Hofmann at the X-Games
Snowboarder Patrick Hofmann secured a podium place at the X Games in Aspen. The 23-year-old from Ticino took second place in the knuckle huck category behind China's Wang Ziyang. At the traditional event in the US state of Colorado, Hofmann achieved what he has not yet managed in the World Cup. His best result by far on the regular tour is 4th place, achieved in the slopestyle competition almost three years ago in Bakuriani in Georgia.
In the knuckle huck discipline, unlike slopestyle, the athletes do not use kickers but only bumps to perform their tricks.
