Multitasking and men go together about as well as driving on the right and driving on the left. Englishman Anthony Gordon had to learn this painfully. Meanwhile, Spain's Lamine Yamal has one less thing to worry about.
Gordon and the wrong brake
Throwing darts worked much better for Anthony Gordon than riding a bike. The 23-year-old striker had no problem getting through the usual darts duel with a journalist at the England training camp. However, a joint recreational trip by the Three Lions on their bikes in the idyllic Thuringian countryside did not end so smoothly for Gordon. "I was riding downhill and wanted to make a video for my family. Suddenly I was lying on the ground. I have a few bruises, but it's not too painful," said Gordon on Friday in Blankenhain. The accident left visible marks on his chin and arms. Apparently, the Newcastle United professional had not paid enough attention to the bike's brakes. "The front brake is normally on the right in England. That's why I pressed the brake on the left - I didn't slow down, but stopped abruptly," reported Gordon, who was able to take it with humor a few days later.
Yamal and the successful school year
Spain's Lamine Yamal has successfully completed his school year. The 16-year-old reported good news on Friday at the Iberians' European Championship camp. "I passed the exams and now have the ESO title," Yamal told the radio station Onda Cero. The Educación Secundaria Obligatoria is the second level of schooling in Spain before the Matura. The FC Barcelona winger did not want to go into detail about the grades he had received. "I saw them on my cell phone. It said I'd passed, so I closed the app, called my mother and told her." Yamal and Spain will face outsiders Georgia in the round of 16 on Sunday.
