Arsenal take the next step towards their first league title in 22 years in the third-last round of the Premier League. The Champions League finalists won 1:0 at West Ham with great difficulty.

Leandro Trossard redeemed Arsenal on Sunday with his goal in the 83rd minute. Up to that point and afterwards, the Gunners had found it very difficult against the relegation candidates. Shortly before Trossard's goal, goalkeeper David Raya prevented Arsenal from falling behind with a brilliant save from Mateus Fernandes. In stoppage time, West Ham's would-be equalizer was reversed after minutes of video review due to a previous foul on Raya.

Following Manchester City's 3-0 win over Brentford on Saturday, the Gunners extended their lead to five points. However, City still have one game in hand and can close the gap to two points with a home win against Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
