Grasshoppers beat FC Zurich 3-0 in the 291st Zurich derby. Jonathan Asp Jensen excels at the Letzigrund.
The name raises expectations. Jonathan Asp Jensen has been active in the Bayern Munich organization for three years. First in youth teams, then in the second team of the German record champions. In mid-May 2024, the Dane got a taste of the Bundesliga for the first team.
It is at least not unlikely that the 19-year-old will return to the German top flight at some point, and he proved once again on Saturday evening for Grasshoppers, where he is set to get some match practice. The record champions won a long, rather tame derby against city rivals FCZ 3-0.
And Asp Jensen put Gerald Scheiblehner's team on course for victory after half an hour. The attacking midfielder had already scored on the last two match days and now has four goals for the season. Shortly after the break, he also set up Samuel Marques, another youngster in the Zurich squad, perfectly before he made it 2-0. In the closing stages, Nikolas Muci converted a penalty that had been preceded by a controversial handball. For GC, the second win of the season is at least a statement against their city rivals, who always seem fragile.
