For the Hawks, who are fighting for a place in the playoffs, the home win against the team ranked ahead of them was an important sign against the downward trend of recent weeks: It was only their second win in the last eleven games.

Geneva's Clint Capela was not in the Atlanta line-up for the sixth time in a row. The 30-year-old, who was initially plagued by back problems, was given "personal reasons" for his absence. However, Capela did not miss the opportunity to join his team-mates on the bench in his casual clothes.

For the Washington Wizards, Kyshawn George from Valais scored a strong 17 points for the second game in a row. He was his team's second-best scorer behind Jordan Poole, who had a fabulous game with 45 points. However, it was not enough for the Wizards to secure their fourth win in a row: they lost 124-134 to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
