Basel have secured the services of Belgian winger Julien Duranville until the summer. The 19-year-old Belgian joins the Swiss champions on loan from Borussia Dortmund, as announced by FCB.
Duranville made his professional debut for Anderlecht at the age of 16 and made two appearances for Belgium's senior national team in the fall of 2024. He has been under contract at Dortmund for three years and has made 27 appearances for the Germans. His development stalled recently, partly because he was out for a long time with a shoulder injury. He played his last match with the BVB fan team at the FIFA Club World Cup last July.
FCB sporting director Daniel Stucki is nevertheless convinced that Duranville can help the team right from the start, "ideally against FC Zurich on Sunday".
