At half-time, it looked as if the visitors from Hamburg could also give the title favorites a leg up. Thanks to a goal from Elias Saad, the score was 1-1, but Leroy Sané had something against conceding points against a clear underdog for the third time in a row. His goals in the 53rd and 71st minutes made him the match-winner.
Bayern Munich thus remain six points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen, who beat Bochum 3-1 on Friday. There are still seven match days to go in the Bundesliga.

Cédric Zesiger, who unlike Elvedi had played in the international matches in March, also played the full distance in Augsburg's away game in Sinsheim. In the 71st minute, Hoffenheim's Andrej Kramaric converted a controversial handball penalty to equalize the score at 1:1. The visitors from Bavaria could console themselves with the fact that they remained unbeaten for the eleventh time in a row.
