Julien Bonvin in the 400 m hurdles and the 200 m runners Timothé Mumenthaler and Felix Svensson are stuck in the hopeful heats at the Games in Paris.
Bonvin finished 3rd in his heat in 49.08 seconds and missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals by a good two tenths.
Mumenthaler needed 20.67 seconds for the half lap. The European champion from Rome was four hundredths slower than the day before in the preliminary heat, which meant he was 16 hundredths off the pace to make it through to the next round.
Svensson's time of 20.65 seconds in the repechage was also better than his time from the previous day.
