Fabienne Buri, Jasmin Liechti, Annika Liehner and Aline Seitz lined up in 7th place. They covered the 4000 meters in 4:18.246 minutes. This is the second-best time by a Helvetian quartet in history. The women's foursome set the national record last March at the Nations Cup in Turkey, when they were almost half a second faster.

Noah Bögli, Luca Bühlmann, Mats Poot and Alex Vogel took 3:52.048 minutes to complete the 16 laps of the 250-meter oval. The ensemble beat the national record by just under three seconds and finished in 8th place.

In the main round, the Swiss men's four will face the USA team on Thursday night. The women will take on Japan late on Thursday evening.
