Borussia Dortmund wins 3:2 against Eintracht Frankfurt in the second-last round of the Bundesliga after falling behind early on and definitely secures 2nd place.
Niko Kovac's team celebrated their 13th home win of the Bundesliga season. Frankfurt remain outside the European Cup places due to another defeat and are in danger of missing out on international business.
In front of 81,365 spectators in the sold-out Dortmund stadium, goalkeeper Gregor Kobel had to make an early save after Can Uzun's goal (2nd minute). However, Serhou Guirassy (42) and Nico Schlotterbeck (45) turned the game in BVB's favor within four minutes before the break. Samuele Inacio then shone with his first Bundesliga goal (72'), before Jonathan Burkardt (87') reduced the deficit for the generally improved Eintracht with Swiss defender Aurèle Amenda.
Before kick-off, not only the BVB departures Julian Brandt, Salih Özcan and Niklas Süle, but also former sporting director Sebastian Kehl were bid farewell with much applause, chanting and a wave of la-ola. While Süle ends his career after the season, the future of Brandt, one of Borussia's longest-serving players, and Özcan remains open. According to reports, Kehl could move to Tottenham Hotspur after his contract is terminated.
