With eight participants, Liechtenstein has a comparatively large delegation for the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina.
Five of the eight selected athletes come from the bobsleigh division: 23-year-old helmsman Martin Kranz and his pushers Lorenz Lenherr, Mauro Bühler, David Tschofen and Ozan Bektas form a well-rehearsed team. Kranz has already won silver twice in the two-man event at U23 level at the Junior World Championships. In the World Cup this season, he has already finished in the top 15 in both the small and large sleds.
The most experienced athlete is Marco Pfiffner (31). The ski racer is competing in his fourth Games after Sochi, Pyeongchang and Beijing. His best result at the Olympics was 11th place four years ago in the alpine combined, which is no longer part of the Olympic program. Pfiffner last scored points at World Cup level in December 2024 (downhill 24th in Val Gardena/Gröden).
Madeleine Beck will also be competing in alpine skiing. The 21-year-old is the only woman in the Liechtenstein team. The team is completed by cross-country skier Robin Frommelt.
Four years ago in Beijing, Liechtenstein only had two participants in the form of cross-country skier Nina Riedener and Pfiffner.
