Lindsey Vonn narrowly misses out on the downhill double in St. Moritz. After her superior victory on Friday, the 41-year-old American finished second behind Emma Aicher in the second race in the Engadine.

Emma Aicher, fifth the day before, distanced Lindsey Vonn by 0.24 seconds. A further five hundredths back was the Italian Sofia Goggia in third place.
The 22-year-old German Aicher is now on the verge of her third World Cup victory. In March 2025, she first won a downhill in Kvitfjell and a few days later a super-G in La Thuile. Aicher has stood on the podium once so far this season: Third in the slalom in Levi in mid-November.
Just like the day before, the decimated Swiss team, which was missing Lara Gut-Behrami, Corinne Suter and Michelle Gisin due to injury, had nothing to do with the outcome at the top. After 30 racers have started, Jasmine Flury is the best Swiss racer in 11th place. The 2023 Downhill World Champion, who only made her comeback on Friday after almost two years out of racing (30th place), lost 1.13 seconds to Aicher.
Malorie Blanc, who finished 13th in the first downhill, finished outside the top 15 on Saturday, almost 1.6 seconds behind.
