According to the FA, the attacking player had left England's European Championship camp in Blankenhain for an "urgent family matter".
The Three Lions will face Slovakia in the round of 16 on Sunday (18:00) in Gelsenkirchen. So far, Foden's team has been one of the biggest disappointments in the tournament. The Manchester City professional has started all three group games, but has not been involved in any of England's only two goals.
