FC Lugano is planning for the long term with Mattia Croci-Torti as coach and is extending the contract with the Ticino native, which expires in the summer, for a further three years.
The 42-year-old Croci-Torti took over from Brazilian Abel Braga on an interim basis in September 2021 and led the club to Cup victory the following year. Lugano also reached the cup final in 2023 and 2024.
The Ticino club has since developed into a serious championship contender under Croci-Torti's leadership. Lugano will tackle the second half of the season after the winter break as leaders of the Super League.
