FC Zurich notches up its first away win since the end of October. They won 2:0 at bottom club Winterthur.
FCZ's goals had been coming. Steven Zuber had failed in the first half alone in front of the strong goalkeeper Stefanos Kapino, and he later hit the post with a shot. In the 63rd minute, a corner finally led to Cheveyo Tsawa making it 1-0. Tsawa also had a hand in the second goal: he set up Zuber in the 80th minute, who scored his first goal for FCZ.
The win is good for FC Zurich after two defeats in a row and many disappointing results in the last three or four months. They leapfrog Lausanne-Sport into the top 5.
For Winterthur, meanwhile, the situation is becoming more uncomfortable from round to round. Under new coach Uli Forte, they suffered their third defeat in a row after a promising start with a goalless draw at YB. The gap to the barrage place has increased again and is now seven points.
Winterthur were not without a chance, despite playing less of the game at the sold-out Schützenwiese. Antoine Baroan scored shortly after both FCZ goals. However, the Frenchman was offside both times.
