Eintracht Frankfurt defeats Ajax Amsterdam 4:1 in the second leg and advances to the quarter-finals of the Europa League. AS Roma experience a bitter evening.

Jean-Mattéo Bahoya and Mario Götze put the home team, who had taken a 2:1 lead from the first leg, on a safe course early on with their goals. The team, with Swiss defender Aurèle Amenda coming on as a substitute in the closing stages, did not allow themselves to be rattled after that. Eintracht, who won the competition in 2022 and 1980 (UEFA Cup), can therefore continue to dream of their next triumph.

AS Roma were unable to defend their lead from the first leg. After winning 2:1 at home, the Italians lost 0:2 away at Athletic Bilbao and thus bowed out of the competition. After a red card against defender Mats Hummels, the Romans had to play shorthanded from the 11th minute onwards. A disadvantage that weighed too heavily in the end.

The other team from the Italian capital is still in the competition: Lazio Roma are through to the quarter-finals thanks to a 3:2 aggregate score against Viktoria Pilsen.
