HC Fribourg-Gottéron wins a home game against HC Davos for the first time in almost two years with a 5-3 victory. These are the facts of Friday's six games.

Wins against Davos are rare for all opponents this season - even more so for Fribourg-Gottéron in their home arena, which is sold out as usual. A goal from the fourth line with Kevin Nicolet to make it 4-3 with six and a half minutes to go brought another such success. Marcus Sörensen secured the victory with the 5:3. Davos, without top scorers Matej Stransky and Enzo Corvi, were unable to find an answer.

A double strike by Jacob de la Rose and Christoph Bertschy within 37 seconds in the final period from 1:2 to 3:2 had put Fribourg ahead for the first time. Gottéron managed a home win against Davos for the first time in almost two years. The leaders had started brilliantly. Adam Tambellini and Nico Gross, who scored his first goal of the season eight days after his national team debut, gave the Grisons a 2-0 lead after just seven minutes. Davos lost for only the fourth time this season, but for the third time in the last four games.

SCB confirms Gävle

The national team break did SC Bern good. The 2:1 away win in Gävle against Brynäs in the European Cup was followed by a well-deserved 5:2 home win over the Lakers, who lost for the seventh time in a row and had to give up 2nd place in the table. Bern's coach Heinz Ehlers apparently found a solution to his (many) problems: both in Sweden and against the Lakers, the forward line of Benjamin Baumgartner, Marco Lehmann and Joel Vermin made the difference. Vermin, who started the season as a defenseman, scored his second and third goals of the season, while Marco Lehmann scored his second goal of the season and contributed his first two assists.

Biel's home strength fizzles out

EHC Biel's home strength has fizzled out. After eight wins out of nine home games, the Seelanders suffered their second home defeat in a row with a 2-0 loss against the ZSC Lions. Nicolas Bächler (16) and Pontus Aberg with his seventh goal of the season (47) gave the ZSC Lions a 2-0 lead. Simon Hrubec recorded his fourth shutout of the season with 26 saves.

EV Zug thanks to Gregory Hofmann

In the European Cup, EV Zug had overrun Sparta Prague in the starting phase (and led 5-0 early on). Two days later, the Zug team was unable to get into the game for a long time against HC Ambri-Piotta. Ambri (with club legend Manuele Celio on the boards as assistant) deservedly led 2:0, but Zug managed to turn the game around late on. Fabrice Herzog reduced the deficit to 1:2, then Gregory Hofmann made it 3:2 from 1:2 within five minutes with his goals number 6 and 7 of the season. In the end, Andreas Wingerli scored into the empty net to make it 4:2.

Lugano's efficiency

Lugano only scored eleven times in Kloten - and still won 2:1. The Luganesi thus returned to winning ways two days after the 3-0 loss in Langnau. The Ticino side have won seven of their last eight games. All goals were scored in the first 17 minutes: Dario Simion and Aleksi Peltonen gave Lugano a 2-0 lead before Noah Delémont shortened it for Kloten. Captain Calvin Thürkauf (injured) was missing for Lugano, while substitute captain Luca Fazzini was also ruled out injured in the second period.

Lausanne thanks to Brännström

Lausanne scrapped their way to victory against bottom-of-the-table Ajoie. The team from Jura led 1-0 for 30 minutes in the canton of Vaud and saved themselves for overtime. In overtime, defenseman Erik Brännström, the National League's plus/minus leader (plus-16), scored the 3-2 winning goal in the 63rd minute. Lausanne scored all three goals with one man more on the ice.
