The Grasshoppers have taken up the option to buy winger Tomas Verón Lupi, who was previously on loan. The 24-year-old Argentinian will be given a three-year contract.

Verón Lupi joined the Zurich club last September from Uruguayan first division side Racing Club de Montevideo. In 27 appearances for GC, the South American scored three times and set up four goals. The clubs did not disclose the amount of the transfer fee.
