At the end of the European Orienteering Championships in Hungary, Switzerland wins two more medals in the relay competitions. The women run to gold, the men take bronze.
The women's relay set the perfect finishing point for Switzerland at the European Forest Championships. The trio of Inès Berger, Natalia Gemperle and Simona Aebersold triumphed ahead of Norway and Sweden. For the final skier Aebersold, it was her third medal at these championships after winning gold in the middle distance and silver in the long distance.
The Swiss men had already enjoyed a podium finish before the women. After starter Daniel Hubmann had opened the race, Fabian Aebersold even worked his way to the front for a short time. In the end, he handed over to Joey Hadorn in fourth place, who worked his way up to 3rd place. The superior Norwegians became European champions, with silver going to the Swedes.
The second Swiss team with Riccardo Rancan, Tino Polsini and Martin Hubmann finished in 13th place.
