With gold for Anja Senti in the 300 m prone and silver for the men's team in the same non-Olympic discipline, the Swiss team had another successful day at the World Championships in Cairo.
With these medals, the delegation completed the dozen.
This was the third time that the woman from Zeeland had won gold as an individual shooter at the World Championships: in 2022, the 29-year-old also won in Cairo, also in the 300 m prone event. In 2023 in Baku, she was the best prone shooter with the small bore rifle over 50 m. She has also won several World Championship gold medals with various teams.
Anja Senti shot 58 tens and two nines in Cairo. With a total of 598 points, she was on a par with Norway's Jenny Vatne. However, the Swiss was 39:37 ahead in the inner tens.
With 1784 points, Gilles Dufaux, Sandro Greuter and Pascal Bachmann were three points behind the Czechs, but four points ahead of Poland. The trio had even won gold in the three-position competition over 300 m on Saturday.
