Coach Pep Guardiola's side won 1-0 at Burnley FC to take first place in the table for the first time since August 21, 2025, thanks to a narrowly superior goal difference. Both teams have 70 points each from 33 games.
Erling Haaland made Manchester City's away win at Burnley perfect with an early goal in the 5th minute. The ten-time champions had only beaten Arsenal 2:1 in a direct duel on Sunday. The Londoners, who have been waiting for a league title since 2004, are now in danger of being caught in the home straight.
Burnley, on the other hand, have been relegated ahead of time, second only to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
