As expected, downhill world champion Jasmine Flury has withdrawn from the World Championships in Saalbach. The Grisons native announced her decision on Instagram.
"I don't just want to race at the World Championships, I want to be among the front runners. That's not enough yet," said the 31-year-old. The athlete from Davos withdrew from racing last February due to cartilage damage.
She may not be defending her title, but the speed specialist is not complaining. She is looking ahead and wants to attack again next season. "I'm on my way back, I'm happy with the progress I've made and I'm already back on my beloved long skis." But she has not yet fully recovered.
