Chelsea have signed Brazilian striker João Pedro to an eight-year contract, according to a statement from the club. The transfer fee is said to be around 70 million euros.

The 23-year-old joins from Premier League rivals Brighton, where he scored ten league goals last season. The Brazilian international completed his medical in the USA. He could therefore make his debut for Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup on Saturday night in Philadelphia against Palmeiras.
