Joel Girrbach improves on the third day of the Olympic golf tournament. The 31-year-old from Thurgau needed 70 strokes for the 18 holes, two fewer than on Friday.

With five birdies and four bogeys, Girrbach finished the third round one stroke under par. This puts him in the middle of the 60-strong field of participants. At the start of the Olympic tournament, the 31-year-old from Thurgau, who was promoted to the PGA European Tour this season, needed one stroke less.
