As things stand, Lara Gut-Behrami was eight hundredths too slow on the shortened course to finish in the top three in another super-G. Emma Aicher was followed by the Italians Sofia Goggia and Federica Brignone.

Gut-Behrami will lose some of her lead in the discipline rankings. Before the last two super-Gs of the winter, the next one is scheduled for Friday again in La Thuile, the Swiss racer has 45 points more on her account than Federica Brignone.

The next best Swiss skier on Thursday was Michelle Gisin. The Obwalden native would equal her best result in a World Cup Super-G this winter with 9th place. Corinne Suter is just ahead of Joana Hählen in 14th place.

Emma Aicher would achieve her second World Cup victory, her first in a super-G. The 21-year-old daughter of a German father and a Swedish mother celebrated her debut almost two weeks ago in the second downhill in Kvitfjell in Norway. In the super-G, she would be the first German winner in more than five years and Viktoria Rebensburg's success in Lake Louise in Canada.
