Despite still having a 14-point lead in the National League, HC Davos is no longer the superior team it was at the start of the season. The HCD loses in Geneva against Servette 2:3 after overtime.

Davos have lost four of their last five away games - against Servette (0:7), Lausanne (2:3), Freiburg (3:5) and now again against Servette. In between, there was only a 3-0 win at SC Bern, who were weak at home.

Before the game against the SCL Tigers, the ZSC Lions celebrated the 1001st National League game of captain Patrick Geering, who has never played for a club other than ZSC. The Zurich team really doesn't have much else to celebrate at the moment. They also suffered another 3:2 defeat after overtime against Langnau, who are themselves in a creative crisis - after leading 2:1 until the 59th minute. Of their last seven competitive games, the ZSC Lions have won just one (and that very luckily against Ambri).

Saturday was characterized by late turnarounds: Fribourg-Gottéron fell behind late against SC Bern, but still won 2:1. Ajoie beat Zug 3:2 on penalties after Zug had led 2:0 in the final period. Ambri-Piotta also equalized late against Biel and won 5:4 on penalties.
