Zrinka Ljutic puts her stamp on the World Cup slalom in Semmering in the first run. The Croatian is clearly ahead of Lena Dürr and the Swiss Camille Rast and Wendy Holdener.
In the absence of seven-time Semmering winner Mikaela Shiffrin, Ljutic coped best by far with the course set by her coach and father Amir Ljutic. With bib number 2, the 20-year-old set a mark that none of her competitors could match. She took 51 hundredths off the German Lena Dürr, who started in front of her.
Camille Rast and Wendy Holdener, who raced directly behind her, lost 98 hundredths and 1.13 seconds respectively without making any obvious mistakes. However, as the other racers lost even more time, the Swiss racers finished in 3rd and 4th place despite the large gaps.
Mélanie Meillard is on her way to her fourth top 10 result in the fourth slalom of the season. The skier from Neuchâtel lost 2.25 seconds on the leader and is classified in 10th place.
Michelle Gisin, the 2020 slalom winner, was missing from the Hirschenkogel. The Swiss all-rounder is taking a break.
