Marco Odermatt misses his second victory within 24 hours in Val Gardena/Gröden by 0.22 seconds. The racer from Nidwalden finished in 2nd place after 45 racers started. A Czech is sensationally in the lead.
Marco Odermatt also shows a magnificent run on the Saslong slope in the Super-G and comes second in a crazy race behind the sensational Czech winner Jan Zabystran.
Because the conditions in South Tyrol improve significantly as the race progresses - more sun and a tailwind in places - the Swiss high-flyer's 51st World Cup victory slips away late on. Odermatt, winner of the sprint downhill on the Saslong the day before, is the only racer of the first ten starters to finish in the top 10.
Zabystran achieved the big coup with bib number 29. The 27-year-old managed the Saslong, which has always been good for surprises with high start numbers in the past, without making any mistakes. With a lead of 22 hundredths over Odermatt, he secured the first World Cup victory for a male racer from the Czech Republic.
Zabystran had previously only finished in the top 10 once in the World Cup. In March 2025, he finished 8th in the super-G in Kvitfjell.
