Swiss canoeist Martin Dougoud qualifies for the final of the twelve best athletes in the single kayak in the Olympic whitewater channel in Vaires-sur-Marne.
Despite a big mistake at the second gate, where his kayak was put sideways, the French-born Genevan managed the seventh-fastest time of the semi-finals. With his time of 93.07 seconds, Dougoud lost just under four seconds to the leader Joseph Clarke from Great Britain.
Three years ago in Tokyo, the 33-year-old Dougoud missed out on qualification for the final.
The medals will be up for grabs in the final from 17:30.
