Atle Lie McGrath leads the slalom in Wengen after 30 racers. Loïc Meillard and Henrik Kristoffersen are on course for the podium in joint 2nd place.

McGrath is well on the way to confirming his victory from last year. The 25-year-old Norwegian showed a flawless first run in the Bernese Oberland and clearly distanced himself from the competition.

Meillard, who made a zero in the second run in Adelboden after a mistake, has his sights firmly set on his third slalom podium this season. Like three-time Wengen winner Kristoffersen, the world champion lost four tenths of a second to the leader.

Only Lucas Pinheiro Braathen was able to keep up with the trio. The Norwegian, who is competing for Brazil, is half a second behind in 4th place. There is a gap of a further four tenths between him and his compatriot Timon Haugan, who is ranked directly behind him. Clément Noël in 6th place is already 1.39 seconds behind McGrath.

Daniel Yule is aiming for his second top 15 finish and thus fulfilling the selection criteria for the Olympic Games. The 32-year-old from Valais is 2.28 seconds behind in 15th intermediate place.

Tanguy Nef will not be taking part in the decision that starts at 13:00. The ambitious skier from Geneva was eliminated after setting impressive intermediate times.
