Loïc Meillard's chances of a double victory in Schladming are intact: After the first run in the night slalom, the Swiss is in 3rd place behind two Norwegians.
Meillard, who had triumphed in the giant slalom the day before, lost a lot of time in the lower section after a strong start and fell behind Atle Lie McGrath and Henrik Kristoffersen. The Frenchman is 44 hundredths down on the leader.
McGrath is aiming for his third win of the season in Schladming, while Kristoffersen could become the sole record holder with his fifth success on the Planai.
However, the starting position in the second run is still completely open due to the close time gaps. Tanguy Nef had to settle for 11th place, 1.23 seconds behind. Daniel Yule lost 2.42 seconds and is currently in 20th place.
The second run starts at 20:45.
