Eighth win in a row for FC Thun: With the 1:0 home win against Sion, the Bernese Oberland club set a new club record and extended their lead at the top of the table.

Shortly before the break, Thun were rewarded for their constant attacking and pressing in the first half. Ethan Meichtry scored the winning goal via the post after another powerful and well-positioned attack. The lead was well deserved. The hosts had previously missed two great chances to score.

FC Sion lacked the final determination around the Thun penalty area to possibly break their opponents' winning streak. This was compounded by an unfortunate refereeing decision in the 68th minute, which put the brakes on the Valais side's momentum. Noé Sow was shown the red card for an emergency brake, which was correctly recognized after consulting the video images. Shortly beforehand, however, the ball had apparently been out of bounds. The whole action, which was fatal for Sion, should therefore probably not have happened at all.

In the 82nd minute, a second Sion player, Lamine Diack, was shown the red card for an emergency brake, meaning that the game was definitely decided. For the eighth time in a row and thus once more than in the previous Thun record series from spring 2005, the current leaders left the pitch as winners.
