Neymar's premature departure makes a return to his native Brazil increasingly likely. FC Santos, for whom the former international star played until 2013, are said to be interested in signing him. According to media reports, Neymar for his part is not averse to the idea either.

Neymar's contract with Al-Hilal would have been valid until the summer. However, the South American has not played a role in coach Jorge Jesus' team for some time. Since his move to Saudi Arabia in August last year, he has only played seven times for the club and scored one goal.

Neymar moved to Saudi Arabia from Paris Saint-Germain for a transfer fee of 90 million euros. After suffering a cruciate ligament rupture the October before last while playing for the national team, he was forced to take a one-year break. On his comeback in October last year and in November, Neymar made two shorter appearances before thigh problems stopped him.
