It's now official: Borussia Dortmund have signed Niko Kovac as head coach. The 53-year-old has signed a contract with BVB until the summer of 2026.

The successor to Nuri Sahin will bring his brother and former BVB professional Robert Kovac (50) and Filip Tapalovic (48) with him to the eight-time German champions as assistant coaches.
The former Bayern Munich coach will take over next week. On Saturday in the match against Heidenheim, U19 coach Mike Tullberg will once again coach the team with Swiss international goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.
Kovac should get Dortmund back on track. BVB is in 11th place in the Bundesliga and thus far below its own expectations. "We find ourselves in a challenging sporting situation and are certain that in Niko we have found a coach who is capable of mastering it," the club announced in a press release. Niko Kovac will be officially unveiled next week.
