Simon Ehammer misses out on a medal in the long jump at the Olympic Games in Paris. The 24-year-old from Appenzell is 14 centimeters short of bronze.

With his second attempt, Ehammer achieved a distance of 8.20 meters. This was only good enough for a thankless 4th place. Top favorite Miltiadis Tentoglou from Greece won ahead of the Jamaican Wayne Pinnock and Mattia Furlani from Italy.
