
Natalie Maag from the Zurich Oberland region missed out on a medal in the single-seater event at the World Championships in Whistler, Canada. The 27-year-old luger finished in 5th place on the 2010 Olympic track.
Victory went to the German Julia Taubitz. It was Maag's best World Championship result in this discipline. She had previously finished 6th in the mixed event with Australian Alex Ferlazzo. Last year, Maag won silver in the sprint, which is no longer part of the program.
Noé Roth finishes fifth
Aerials. - In the fourth competition of the World Cup season, ski acrobat Noé Roth jumped into the top 5 for the third time. The 24-year-old from Zug came fifth in Deer Valley, Utah, behind three Americans and a Ukrainian, while 25-year-old Pirmin Werner from Zurich came tenth. Roth is ranked second overall in the aerials discipline, Werner 13th.
