Noemi Rüegg gets the cycling season off to another great start. As in the previous year, the Zurich rider wins the Tour Down Under in Australia as part of the World Tour.
The 24-year-old Rüegg convincingly turned the tide in her favor in the third and final stage. She won the 126-kilometre stage from Norwood to Campbelltown ahead of Mavi Garcia and also won the overall standings with an eleven-second lead over the Spaniard.
After two stages, the seventh-placed rider at the Olympic Games road race in Paris the year before last was in third place.
