Coach Loan Morand's players became Swiss champions by winning the play-off final 3:1 to dethrone the Fribourg women after six successful championships in a row.
The women from Nyon, who had already beaten Elfic in the Supercup last fall and especially three weeks ago in the cup final, completed their work with a 69:58 victory in the fourth game of the best-of-five series.
Such an outcome seemed highly unlikely a year ago. Elfic won all 16 titles played in Switzerland between the start of the 2020/21 season and the end of the 2023/24 financial year (championship, Cup, League Cup and Super Cup).
The players from Nyon have now won the fourth national title in the history of their club after 1973, 1979 and 1984.
