The OC President of the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival, Jakob Kamm, tapped a keg of beer at the opening of the festival site on Friday morning in Mollis GL. A surprise was provided by a special unit of the Swiss army.

The Swiss Army paratroopers brought the wooden hammer for the keg tapping from the air directly to the festival site. Equipped with a Swiss and a Glarus flag, the five paragliders made for astonished faces among the several hundred wrestling fans who had already traveled to Mollis on Friday morning for the opening ceremony.

According to Kamm, it was a "surreal moment" that he had dreamed of for 15 years. He wished for an accident-free federal event, said the OC President in front of the ESAF landmark, the 20-metre-high wooden Muni Max.

The tradition of tapping a beer barrel at the opening goes back to the role of one of the main sponsors. After the tapping, there was free beer for everyone.
