Lucas Pinheiro Braathen leads the men's slalom overture in Levi after 30 racers. Loïc Meillard, the best Swiss, is already 1.32 seconds behind in 10th position.

Pinheiro Braathen showed an attacking and flawless run with bib number 4. The Norwegian, competing for Brazil, took 41 hundredths and more off the competition in the north of Finland. Last year's winner Clément Noël from France came closest to him. The Norwegian Timon Haugan was 49 hundredths behind.

Loïc Meillard did not get up to speed. The world champion, who opened the race, lost a lot of time with a controlled run and is at the end of the top 10. Twelve hundredths behind him is Tanguy Nef in 14th place with 1.44 seconds. Daniel Yule, who was tackling his first race on the new Atomic material, lost 2.15 seconds and has to worry about qualifying for the second run starting at 1.00 pm. Luca Aerni will miss out on this with a 3.45 second deficit.
