Noè Ponti continues to reel off his extensive program at the Short Course World Championships in Budapest in confident style.
Ponti has a busy program these days. On Friday morning, the Ticino native qualified for the semi-finals in the 100 m dolphin with a time of 49.35 seconds as the third fastest in the preliminary heats, which will be held in the evening at 6.35 pm.
Just over 20 minutes later, the 2021 Olympic bronze medal winner will compete in the 100m medley final in Budapest's Duna Arena, in which he will be the big favorite, as he was when he won the 50m medley title on Wednesday.
With Thierry Bollin, a second Swiss swimmer will be competing for the medals on Friday evening (at 18:12). The swimmer from Bern qualified for the 50m backstroke final with the third-best time.
Louis Droupy from Vaud, on the other hand, failed to make it into the top eight in the 200 m breaststroke. He finished 33rd in the heats in 2:12.78, more than two and a half seconds off his Swiss record.
