Camille Rast in third and Mélanie Meillard in fourth have secured a very good starting position for the second slalom run in Killington (USA). Lena Dürr is in the lead ahead of Anna Swenn Larsson.

In the absence of Mikaela Shiffrin, who had to miss the start of the third race of the season in her specialty discipline after her crash the day before in the giant slalom, two Swiss skiers are in lurking position for the podium places or even victory after the first run.

Camille Rast is only 0.12 seconds behind the leaders. Between the 25-year-old from Valais and the German leader is Sweden's Anna Swenn Larsson (0.11 back). The latter won in Soldeu in February 2024, the last time Shiffrin was unable to compete in a World Cup slalom. For her part, Rast finished 3rd in both the giant slalom and the last slalom in Gurgl the day before.

Mélanie Meillard was just as strong as her team-mate Rast. The 26-year-old from Valais was only 0.43 seconds down on Dürr, which means she also has podium ambitions.

Wendy Holdener finished a good one second behind in 9th place after 30 racers had started.

The start of the second run in the ski resort in the state of Vermont is at 19:00 Swiss time.
