The Austrian, who was eliminated in the first run the day before with the best intermediate times, was the only one who was able to keep up with the unleashed New Zealander in the Canadian province of Quebec. The American Nina O'Brien, in third place, was already more than half a second down on the leader.

Camille Rast followed in 5th intermediate place. Like many other skiers, the Valais skier was able to keep up with Robinson until the last intermediate time. In the end, she was 65 hundredths off the lead and 13 hundredths off 3rd place. The second World Cup podium in the giant slalom, which she narrowly missed out on on Saturday with 4th place, is within reach.

Wendy Holdener will have to improve in the second run starting at 7.00 pm to finish in the top 10 in the basic discipline for the first time this season. The skier from Schwyz is 1.54 seconds behind in 17th place.
