The Grasshoppers celebrate an important 2:1 away win in Yverdon. "Oldie" Pascal Schürpf lets the Zurich team cheer.

The 35-year-old Schürpf no longer makes many appearances, and after the third matchday he was only in the starting eleven once. This year, he has only made brief appearances in the final minutes of matches, if at all. Against Yverdon, coach Tomas Oral replaced the striker for once in the 65th minute, and he thanked him a good 13 minutes later: after a free kick from Giotto Morandi, Schürpf was on hand with a header to make it 2:1.

The away win for the Zurich side was somewhat fortunate due to the share of play. In the second half in particular, the home-strong Vaud side pressed for a second goal, but failed to score due to the goalkeeper Justin Hammel or their own inability. Yverdon, who had equalized the early deficit in the first half with a penalty goal, were severely punished for their inefficiency.

With their second win in a row, GC overtook Yverdon in the table and are now in 10th place. In the last round before the division, they will face bottom team Winterthur.
