FC St. Gallen lose three points to leaders Thun in the Super League. A controversial penalty brings Servette back into the game after trailing 2-0 and to a 4-2 away win.

Jérémy Guillemenot was Servette's main protagonist in the turnaround in eastern Switzerland. The Geneva side were 2-0 down at the break, before the former St. Gallen player set about turning the game on its head.

One minute after the restart, Guillemenot scored the equalizer. In the 80th minute he equalized from the penalty spot, and in the 83rd minute he set up Miroslav Stevanovic with a cross to make it 3:2. Finally, David Douline scored the final goal in stoppage time.

It was a result that had not been anticipated in the first 45 minutes - and to which a controversial penalty perhaps contributed decisively. St. Gallen led 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Lukas Görtler and Jozo Stanic, and 2-1 when referee Mirel Turkes assessed a scene in the 80th minute as penalty-worthy after studying the video images. In his opinion, Noah Kleine-Bekel elbowed Miroslav Stevanovic in a clear header duel.

Servette went on to turn the game around completely, turning the trends on their head: St. Gallen lost again in their first game of the year after three wins at the end of the year, while Servette won again after four games without a win and claimed their first victory in January at the fourth attempt.
