The splinters from Monday: performance bonus for the Swiss players and Granit Xhaka's advisory role.

Performance bonuses instead of points bonuses

Thanks to the group win, each of the 26 German players received 50,000 euros from the association. Reaching the round of 16 was also worthwhile for the Swiss national team players, although the amount of the bonus is not disclosed. Only this much: it is made up of the UEFA subsidies. Each of the 24 associations will receive 9.25 million euros in entry fees for the final tournament. In addition, there is a further million for each win and half a million for each draw in the group stage. The Swiss Football Association (SFA) will pass on part of this money to the players. In contrast to previous years, in which the players received the "bonus" per point, this time it was linked to reaching the knockout phase. It is therefore no longer a points bonus, but a performance bonus. The European champions can receive a maximum of 28.5 million euros from UEFA.

Xhaka plays the mediator

His captain Granit Xhaka cannot understand why Ricardo Rodriguez (31) is still without a contract for next season. "Nobody understands that the boy is free on transfer in the summer anyway," said Xhaka after the 1:1 draw against Germany. Clubs should pay close attention, the midfielder said with a grin. "Look at the way he plays. He still has to sign a long-term contract somewhere." Rodriguez's contract with Torino expires at the end of the month.
