Mikaela Shiffrin and Levi are a perfect match. The exceptional 30-year-old has an impressive record in Finland. In 16 slalom starts since 2012, she has eight victories and five other podium places, only once finishing outside the top ten.

The best racer in the rest of the field is Lara Colturi. The 19-year-old Albanian lost 1.08 seconds to Shiffrin. The German Lena Dürr follows in third place (1.49 back).

Wendy Holdener has an intact chance of a top 3 finish after half the stint. After 30 racers have started, she is in 7th intermediate place, 1.92 seconds behind dominator Shiffrin.

Mélanie Meillard lost a good two seconds in eleventh place, leaving her three tenths ahead of slalom world champion Camille Rast (14th). Eliane Christen (27th) lost more than four seconds

The start of the second run is at 13:00.
